BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN CLINICAL LABORATORY SCIENCE PROGRAM INFORMATION
Accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS*), the University of Cincinnati Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science distance learning program is designed for working clinical laboratory technicians and medical laboratory technicians who hold their AS degree from a NAACLS* accredited CLT/MLT program or equivalent coursework and CLT/MLT certification.
As a student in this program, each quarter you will be assigned to a small cohort of students led by a clinical laboratory science course instructor and facilitator. This learning community will interact with you through online communication tools such as message boards, chat sessions, and e-mail. All course content will be delivered directly to you via the course web site, such as multimedia lectures and demonstrations. Students should expect to spend at least 20-25 hours per week on the program.
The CLS program will work with you to identify an appropriate clinical laboratory that can serve as a clinical training site. Clinical experiences can typically be completed in your local community. If an appropriate site is not available locally, you may be required to travel to a site that can meet clinical requirements. Your workplace may be utilized as a clinical site, but student hours must be distinguished from employee hours.
