COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS
To participate in the University of Cincinnati’s distance learning Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science program, you will need a computer system with current specifications.
Highly Recommended Hardware (PC)
(It is suggested that this system be the standard for the serious distance learning student. Anything exceeding this standard is not necessary at this time.)
- 1.0 GHZ Pentium IV Processor computer
- 256 MB Ram
- 4 GB free hard drive space
- 24X CD-ROM drive
- Broadband Access (Cable Modem / DSL)
- Color monitor
- Sound card with speakers
- Access to a printer
Minimum Hardware
(This is a bare bones system. Anything less than this will be a problem for the student and our staff.)
- 400 MHZ Pentium III Processor computer
- 128 MB Ram
- 2 GB free hard drive space
- 10X CD-ROM drive
- Internet access (56 Kbps modem)
- Color monitor
- Sound card with speakers
Minimum Software
- Windows 2000 or greater (PC)
- MS Office 2000 or greater
- Access to the Internet
- E-mail address - All students will be issued a UC Bearcat Online (BOL) email account that must be used for all email communications while in the program.
- Internet Explorer 6.x(PC)/5.x(Mac) preferred, Netscape 7.x, Firefox, or Safari (for MAC users)
